Jessica Dean • Attorney with the Facts

Jessica Dean works at Dean Omar Branham Shirley, a law firm she partnered with her colleagues and classmates. The firm is well recognized for workers’ rights and protection and fighting for shareholders’ rights.

She was born in a family of eight children in St. Louis, Missouri. As a young adult, she worked as a waitress for upkeep. She loved swimming and debating in school teams. She was a member of the debate club which contributed to her interest in a legal career.

She went for higher learning at Boston University, and in 1999, she graduated magna cum laude. She had a dual in economics and political science. She continued with education at the University of Texas School of Law, where she studied law and graduated cum laude.

It was during this time in law school that she met Amin Omar, who was her trial mock partner and later became her law firm partner after many years. At the beginning of Jessica Dean’s career as an attorney, she represented workers who had cases of unpaid wages, and people in hospitals and nursing homes who were hurt.

During an interview for a job representing cancer patients and families who had lost their loved ones because of asbestos exposure, she met her other law firm partner Trey Branham. The drive to start a law firm with her classmates and colleagues came as an experience of working with dead and injured people.

The firm was to focus on suing people and class action cases, with everyone who had not been involved with an attorney or had an issue against their bosses at work. Jessica Dean is devoted in fighting for people who have been wronged by their corporations and institutions.

She is recognized for her love of helping people and was named a Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star Honoree. She was voted one of the Top 40 Under 40 Lawyers in Dallas and twice attained Top 100 verdicts at the National Law Journal.
